Public Geisha Tasting
We’d like to invite you to a public geisha tasting at iris on November 21st from 6pm-7pm. We’ll be offering a range of traditional geisha’s and auction-based geishas to our community. This event is first come first served through a drop in drop out environment. Please see below for more information:
The specialty coffee industry is incredibly rich with culture and range of offerings. However our industry often sorts itself into microcosms of subgenres based on local demographic, surrounding industry depth and knowledge. This is what makes coffee culture so incredibly rich and diverse, however not without trade offs. Because of this it is easy to find yourself in a bubble of the local industry which in most cases, can dictate the range of it’s bigger industry that you can experience without travel or other expenditures. We are looking to break down these accidental walls by sharing things not commonly found in our local industry but might be common elsewhere and vise-versa. In this moment, competition and auction style coffee can only be found in different industry climates with more emphasis on home brewing or omokase oriented coffee experiences. It is with great joy we’d like to invite you to a new style of event more in line with these abroad cultures: a public Gesha tasting. We’ll be offering a complimentary gesha tasting with over ten competition grade, auction and private gesha lots from different regions and roasters. We’ll be brewing these in an omakase style fashion for you on November twenty first. This event is public in a drop in drop out environment. We have scheduled this event to begin at 6:00pm in order for those bound by office work to be available as this event is a one off type event as a few of the coffee’s well be showcasing reside in the one-three thousand dollar per kilo price range. We have been planning this for a few months and are incredibly honored to be able to finally serve you in this capacity.
