Public Geisha Tasting

We’d like to invite you to a public geisha tasting at iris on November 21st from 6pm-7pm. We’ll be offering a range of traditional geisha’s and auction-based geishas to our community. This event is first come first served through a drop in drop out environment. Please see below for more information:

The specialty coffee industry is incredibly rich with culture and range of offerings. However our industry often sorts itself into microcosms of subgenres based on local demographic, surrounding industry depth and knowledge. This is what makes coffee culture so incredibly rich and diverse, however not without trade offs. Because of this it is easy to find yourself in a bubble of the local industry which in most cases, can dictate the range of it’s bigger industry that you can experience without travel or other expenditures. We are looking to break down these accidental walls by sharing things not commonly found in our local industry but might be common elsewhere and vise-versa. In this moment, competition and auction style coffee can only be found in different industry climates with more emphasis on home brewing or omokase oriented coffee experiences. It is with great joy we’d like to invite you to a new style of event more in line with these abroad cultures: a public Gesha tasting. We’ll be offering a complimentary gesha tasting with over ten competition grade, auction and private gesha lots from different regions and roasters. We’ll be brewing these in an omakase style fashion for you on November twenty first. This event is public in a drop in drop out environment. We have scheduled this event to begin at 6:00pm in order for those bound by office work to be available as this event is a one off type event as a few of the coffee’s well be showcasing reside in the one-three thousand dollar per kilo price range. We have been planning this for a few months and are incredibly honored to be able to finally serve you in this capacity.

FLAVOR DEVELOPMENT SHOWCASE - 24

FLAVOR DEVELOPMENT SHOWCASE - 24

There is an artful element to crafting and producing experiences in a sustainable manner. There is not always capacity for our guests to slow down and fully absorb a top-to-bottom beverage experience. This realization has led us to founding a new type of experience altogether: Flavor Development Showcase (FDS). FDS is a structured private experience we’ve built to showcase our pioneering to new depths of flavor development in coffee. An omakase-style experience that we have spent two months sourcing and developing a private menu for your complimentary enjoyment. Registration below is open to you first, then open to the public next month.

Our ambition for this event is to invite other shops the following year for FDS 2025 to send a representative member of their staff with a creation of their own to present to attendees. This collaborative nature bridges gaps between small businesses and shops in the light of sharing in a bigger industry. Invitations will be selected by attendees in the prior year’s event. Take this opportunity to be a part of something never done before in our community and register below.

To register, please visit this link: Flavor Development Showcase
(This event is free, however, there is a no-show fee for failure to provide a twenty-four-hour notice)

Tasting Experience

Tasting Experience

Join our staff in brewing a private collecting of Asian-sourced lots in a collaborative and friendly environment. This is a public event with no registration required. The tasting is drop in drop out style meaning at any point in the two hour slot can you join. With that said we encourage participants to join for the entire two hour experience. For more information please read below.

At the beginning of this summer one of our staff members, Ashlynne, took an extended holiday through Korea and Japan to explore their local coffee communities. During her stay we asked if she would bring back a range of coffees for the community to try as coffee culture in Asia is starkly different from the Americas. Ashlynne was generous enough to bring back a multitude of lots with some highlights being Finca Daborah and Mikava lots to name a few. From four to six in the evening on August twenty fifth, we will be sharing these lots with you in a networking + friendly setting. This is a public event, we would love for you to join us in enjoying these stunning lots.

Private Tasting Experience 03

We’re back with another private tasting experience this time with 03’s focus on lots sourced from the greater Asian countries.
Our private tasting experience is the next step from our public cuppings + bar experiences for those seeking a deeper understanding of specialty lots. These private tasting experiences are omakase-style where a few individuals will gather together to focus on experiencing innovative mico-lots slowly in their totality. Our team will educate and brew for everyone while walking the group through their experience + curate helpful discourse on each lots impressions.

(This event is complimentary, however, there is a no-show fee for failure to provide a twenty-four-hour notice)
